YAOX, The Expert of Expo

If a company can design a national pavilion for a World Expo, then it must be the best design house in that country. If it can design national pavilion for the World Expo more than twice, then its ability is absolutely recognized. If it can design a national pavilion for the host country, then it is a world-class design house, and it is undoubtedly an Expert of Expo.

We, YAOX, are such a company. We are the designer and general contractor of the Taiwan Pavilion at the 2010 Shanghai Expo, and the designer of the TW Pavilion (Taiwan Pavilion) in 2025 Osaka Kansai EXPO. We are also the designer and general contractor of the China Pavilion at the 2010 Shanghai Expo. As we all know, China is the host country of the Expo and an emerging power.

Our company YAOX is not only a design house, but also a company with cultural and historical research and presentation capabilities, and can help a big country like China to proposed the strategic direction of the national pavilion of EXPO. We are also a unit with scientific and technological research and development capabilities, creating innovative forms such as the 720-degree spherical theater technology and the "Moving Along the River During the Qingming Festival". We are also a media production company and a special theater design and system integration company.

Madame Jill Wu, curator of YAOX and Master of the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA), sincerely invites partners to join the 2030 Riyadh Expo in Saudi Arabia. As an Expert of Expo, YAOX will definitely not be absent.

Taiwan Pavilion at the Osaka Expo

At the 2025 Osaka Kansai Expo, the model of the Taiwan Pavilion at the Shanghai Expo is no longer can be replicated in Japan. This time, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TITAD) will establish a wholly-owned subsidiary, E-Shan Digital Technology Co., Ltd., in Japan, and participate as a corporate pavilion, named "TECH WORLD," or simply "TW Pavilion." The meaning is self-evident. However, since it is legally a venue owned entirely by Japanese companies, it faces strict restrictions and cannot present any imagery of Taiwan.

According to a Central News Agency report from Tokyo on March 16, 2025, "The Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has requested that Taiwan clearly demonstrate that the Taiwan Pavilion at the 2025 World Expo (Kansai World Expo in Osaka) is a private enterprise." The Ministry of Foreign Affairs' response was a clarification of a statement released by Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs on March 6.

Regarding the exhibition technology used in the Taiwan Pavilion, according to an official release from the organizer, the Administration of Trade and Industry, Ministry of Economic Affairs, the exhibition hall will "create immersive performances through six-sense experiences. The pavilion's three major theaters (Life, Nature, and Future) will showcase cutting-edge technology through immersive experiences. Utilizing 560 full-color intelligent display systems to interact with visitors, the pavilion showcases Taiwan's biodiversity, natural beauty, and the future of humanity through 360-degree panoramic effects and six-sense experiences: sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch, and heart. The pavilion will also offer visitors an AI-powered interactive journey, encouraging visitors to wear smart wristbands. AI algorithms will generate unique 'heartbeat curves' from their visitor experience data, creating personalized Taiwan travel itineraries that will continue to inspire and encourage more visitors to visit Taiwan."

The main exhibit mentioned above refers to the "Heart of Tree" in the first-floor open-air lobby. This large-scale technological installation utilizes numerous robotic screens to represent the diversity of Taiwanese society and its ecological diversity. These plants can undulate like waves of rice, or they can move rhythmically or individually, representing Taiwanese society's tolerance for diverse opinions, yet its ability to unite in times of crisis, embodying the spirit of "unity in diversity."

Secondly, each small screen acts like an endpoint on a wafer, funneling data via optical fiber to the central tree. AI computing is performed within the trunk and ultimately transmitted to the canopy, seemingly stored in the cloud, showcasing Taiwan's strength in digital technology and semiconductors. The ingenious design of the "Heart of Tree" allows a single exhibit to simultaneously showcase two distinct themes: nature and humanities, and technology and industry, while simultaneously expressing Taiwanese values within these constraints.

Although the TW Pavilion was required to incorporate many technological products during the design process, they were required to try to make them appear natural. For example, the Heart of Tree's robotic arm comes from Hiwin, and the small screen comes from Asus. However, when they are transformed into a sea of flowers under the Heart Tree theme, they do not appear abrupt and instead perfectly demonstrate the theme.
